Professional note on my work.

Legal and professional notes

On this page you’ll find the full legal and professional framework of my work. If you’re considering working with me, take a quiet moment to read it. It matters to me that it’s clear from the start what my work is — and what it is not. The German version of these notes is the authoritative one.

1. The nature of my offers

All offers on this website — 1:1 coaching, hypnosis sessions, team work, AI-Readiness guidance, talks, workshops — are coaching, consulting and educational services. They sit within personal development, professional orientation and the support of change processes.

They are not medical treatment within the meaning of the German Therapeutic Products Advertising Act (Heilmittelwerbegesetz, HWG), not psychotherapy within the meaning of the German Psychotherapists Act (Psychotherapeutengesetz, PsychThG), and not the practice of medicine within the meaning of the German Alternative Practitioners Act (Heilpraktikergesetz, HeilprG).

2. Distinction from medical treatment and psychotherapy

I am neither a licensed psychotherapist nor an alternative practitioner for psychotherapy (Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie). I make no medical or psychological diagnoses and treat no illnesses.

Coaching can complement medical or psychotherapeutic treatment, not replace it. For physical or mental complaints, existing illnesses, or the suspicion of an illness, please turn to:

  • a physician

  • a licensed psychotherapist

  • an alternative practitioner for psychotherapy (Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie)

In acute crises or if you have thoughts of suicide, contact a crisis service. In Germany: Telefonseelsorge (0800 111 0 111 or 0800 111 0 222). Internationally, you can find your local helpline at findahelpline.com or via the IASP directory (iasp.info/resources/Crisis_Centres). In a life-threatening emergency, call your local emergency number (for example 112 in the EU or 911 in the US), or go to the nearest psychiatric clinic.

3. Clinical hypnosis in the coaching context

When I speak of “clinical hypnosis” on this website, I mean a structured way of working based on the scientifically grounded methods of the Erickson tradition. It is used in the context of coaching and personal development — not as medical treatment.

The term “clinical” refers to the origin and school of the method, not to any medical-practice claim within the meaning of German law.

4. Contraindications and pre-existing conditions

With certain diagnoses I work only after consultation with a physician and with the written consent of the treating professional. These include in particular:

  • Psychoses and psychotic episodes

  • Epilepsy

  • Severe depression

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Dissociative disorders

  • Acute addiction disorders

  • Acute crisis situations

If you’re unsure whether coaching is suitable in your situation, raise it openly in the exploratory session. We’ll examine it together.

5. The designation “Clinical Hypnotherapist”

On the bio page you’ll find the note that I trained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist in London (UK).

“Clinical Hypnotherapist” is a training designation common in the United Kingdom. It is not a state-recognized German health-profession title within the meaning of the Psychotherapists Act (Psychotherapeutengesetz). I deliberately use the term in its original English form, with a location reference, to avoid any confusion with German health professions.

My work takes place exclusively within the framework of coaching and personal development.

6. Studies and scientific references

When I cite study figures or effect sizes on individual pages (for example, meta-analyses on the efficacy of hypnotic methods), these refer to scientific research in clinical contexts. They serve to place the method in professional context.

These figures are expressly not promises of cure and not an assurance of individual results in a coaching setting.

7. Individual results

What you take from working with me depends on many factors: your participation, your starting conditions, your life situation, your concern, the moment in your life. Coaching is collaboration, not a service with a guaranteed result.

Specific results of individual people that I mention in texts or references are not a statement about what is possible or to be expected for you.

8. When in doubt: consult a professional

If you’re unsure whether your concern is a matter for coaching or for medical/psychotherapeutic care — ask an appropriate professional. When in doubt, always go to a physician first.

If it becomes clear in the exploratory session that coaching isn’t the right format for you, I’ll say so openly. That’s part of my responsibility.
